Lake Nona

Lake Nona, is part of the Orlando, Florida's metropolitan area and is one of Florida's fastest growing communities. With over 20 distinctive neighborhoods, ranging from convenient townhomes to rustic lakeside cabins and the prestigious estate homes, all conveniently located to the Orlando International Airport and approximately 20 minutes from downtown Orlando and 30 minutes from Cocoa Beach.

The community of Lake Nona was officially divided into four neighborhoods by the City of Orlando. Lake Nona Central, which includes the master planned, resort-style living community of VillageWalk. Lake Nona Estates, is the area that true lake front properties are available, nestled on either Lake Nona, Buck Lake or Red Lake, along with homes on the pristine Lake Nona Golf & Country Club. Lake Nona South is where the Medical City is located and is home to the future-evoking community of Laureate Park. NorthLake Park at Lake Nona, is located in the northernmost section and includes the neo-traditional developments of Morningside and Waters Edge. A fifth neighborhood lies outside of the original borders of Lake Nona, Education Village, where the campuses of The Primrose School of Lake Nona, Lake Nona High School and Valencia College are located.

With the downturn in the economy, Lake Nona continues to prosper due to the concept of the Medical City, an emerging biomedical research and educational hub. The University of Central Florida opened a College of Medicine in the area, inclusive of a training hospital, in 2010. Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, the Orlando VA Medical Center, Nemours Children's Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Research Center and a University of Florida Research and Academic Center have now all become a part of this highly regarded medical community. Employing thousands of doctors, scientists, researchers and their supporting staffs makes Lake Nona's proximity to Medical City the perfect location. It is estimated that the Medical City will create up to 30,000 jobs and have a $7.6 billion impact on the economy over the next decade.

With outstanding educational facilities from preschool through college and beyond, Lake Nona provides an exceptional academic environment. Lake Nona's ´┐╝Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE) is their very own modern education system that enables doctors, professors and businesses to interact with students and residents creating advanced learning in a team environment. Lake Nona Education Initiative, a consortium of 70 education professionals from over 30 institutions, worked together to design a thoroughly modern education system for Lake Nona. In a unique partnership with Promethean, a global leader in advanced classroom technology, they were also instrumental in bringing state-of-the-art learning tools to the community. With the high school's Collegiate Academy and Health Academy, they have worked on bringing tremendous opportunities to their students from both Valencia College and Florida Hospital. Beyond academics, the school also offers a wide variety of athletic and extracurricular activities to enrich the lives of their students.

Lake Nona is home to the world ranked Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course and hosts a number of PGA TOUR-sanctioned tournaments including the inaugural Solheim Cup and the Tavistock Cup. Lake Nona Golf and Country Club is a private club situated amidst a trio of pristine lakes providing freshwater fishing and boating opportunities. It has become a popular residence of some of todays most well-known professional golfers and athletes. North Shore Golf Club is Lake Nona's semi-private golf course, located in the North Shore at Lake Hart community. It offers 18 holes with two different styles, the front 9 winds through the native Florida wetlands and has a modern style, while the back nine is more classic, giving a feeling of the South Carolina lowlands with its century old oak trees. Lake Nona also is home to the 4 1/2 stars rated public course, Eagle Creek. It was designed by world-renowned golf course architects Ron Garl of the U.S. and Howard Swan of Europe, and has a true flair to their backgrounds.

Being the newest, trend setting area Orlando, Lake Nona is so much more than a residential community. It is the future, not only for our day to day living, but in the medical research of the world. "Continuously expanding to nourish minds and enrich lives."
